LOT’S WIFE
Remember the biblical story in Genesis 19 of Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed by fire and brimstone because of their inhabitants’ sin? Although the Lord spared Lot and his wife, Mrs. Lot could not resist looking back in disobedience and sentimentality, resulting in being smothered in a sarcophagus of immovable, rigid, lifeless salt . . . her shrine of unbelief!
Instead of putting her foot- of-faith in the Red Sea so God could part the waters and lead her to victory, she looked back, missing the blessing He intended for her. “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for service in the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:61).
I would say to Mrs. Lot, “Keep moving! Run, walk, crawl if need be, but don’t look back! Give up your excuses and rationalization! Embrace the transition period. It may require sacrifice, but God will make every provision for you. Just keep moving forward with your eyes on the Lord and His promises!”Those are the words I am declaring these days! My situation does not define me! Rather than declare the facts of my situation I choose to speak words of Truth – promises from God’s word. I shall embrace this transition period. I will start over, but not “from scratch”! I possess a wealth of wisdom, life experience and faith. Those are the tools which will bring me victory! “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for service in the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:61).
